I may suggest using a diagnostic tool with coaching clients and/or teams. The purpose is to bring another level of understanding/awareness to the interaction.

MBTI® – Myers Briggs Type Indicator® relates to personality preferences. You will complete a questionnaire that will take approximately 30 mins. MBTI® helps us explore questions like: What motivates you? What gives you energy? What are your natural preferences? How do you prefer to interact with the world? What are your sources of personal pressure? This awareness/understanding can contribute to better self-management. This is especially useful in coaching related to professional challenges. it can also be very powerful with teams to improve interpersonal effectiveness (if team members are comfortable sharing their results with others).

DiSC® - relates to behavioral tendencies. You will complete a questionnaire that will take approximately 30 mins. DiSC® helps us understand the behaviors we tend to use the most and/or least in different situations and what the pros and cons of this behavior may be. There is no “right” or “wrong”. However, it may be useful to know your options and be able to adapt to a more effective behavior in a certain situation. This awareness/understanding is especially useful in coaching individuals and teams on interpersonal effectiveness. I have had good results using DiSC® with teams in areas such as: defining a team culture, giving helpful feedback, approaching internal /external clients, asking for assistance from colleagues. We work with observable behaviors so sharing results has rarely been an issue with team members. everything disc - certified trainer

NLP – Neurolinguistic Programming
Neuro – All of our behaviour is the result of neurological activity. Our head/brains provide us with the capacity to perceive, think, feel, choose and make decisions..
Linguistic – How we structure our verbal communication is a reflection of how we think and feel.
Programming – Throughout our entire life we adopt beliefs, ways of thinking and feeling and express this « programming » in behaviours. NLP helps identify different ways of communicating our wants and ideas and how these differences can have an important influence on our attitude and how we are perceived by others. During an NLP session, we work on both verbal and non-verbal communication/behaviours in order to modify where needed perspectives in order to gain better results. Using NLP we are also able to become aware of how we organize our thoughts and the information we receive. This helps to become more flexible and adaptable to use different techniques when those may be more effective.

The Five Dysfunctions of a Team – Team Assessment. You, and everyone in your team, will complete a questionnaire that takes approximately 30 minutes. You will need to save your own individual answers, as the results will be a compilation of all the team members who completed the questionnaire. This tool is important pre-work for the workshop of the same name. You tell me through the results where the issues are with the team. This allows me to adapt the delivery of the content and exercises to address what you consider to be priority issues for the team. The team results are reviewed with the manager prior to the session. During the session, everyone receives a copy and it is referenced to throughout. In order to keep individual responses confidential, this tool is for teams of at least 5 people.
